Best Home Fitness Equipment in 2020
In these pandemic times of COVID-19 and quarantine, people are turning to at home workouts to fill the void of gyms and small fitness boutiques closing. Even when they reopen, the questions remain: Is it safe? Will it be harder to get into a class with limited numbers? What if there’s another wave and things close again? Will the limited class times even work with my schedule?
The best way to stay consistent is to have a home workout plan in place like this one! It enables you to workout on your own time and there’s even an accountability option for those who like tracking results or need a little more help with planning and staying on top of your goals.
To make the best of your at home workouts, I strongly recommend you to make a small investment in the following equipment:
At a minimum
Mini bands - get one of each color $8.95
Flex Bands - this 3-pack comes with a light, medium and heavy resistance $10.90
Yoga Tune Up therapy balls - These are FANTASTIC for self-massage and addressing body tightness/pain/ect. I recommend getting a pair of the Originals and if you can manage it, the Coregeous and the Alpha balls. $11.95 - $13.95 each
Jump Rope - it doesn’t need to be fancy. $5+
A set of dumbbells - I recommend 10-15 lb for women, and 20-30 lb for men, and if you can, 2 sets is optimal of one lower and one higher weight. prices vary
Enhanced Experience
Resistance bands (I have these but anything like it would work) $33
Sliders - if you have carpet (if you have hard floors, you can just wear socks!) $11.95
3’ Foam Roller $19.95
Stability Ball $15
Yoga or Exercise Mat prices vary
Pull Up Bar $40
Worthwhile Investment
Kettlebell - I recommend starting with 8 kg (or 15 lb) for women, and 12 kg (or 25 lb) for men $30 - $52
TRX - Home suspension training system $180
You can still get an amazing workout in using just your body weight, however, if you are looking to elevate your fitness, then give these a shot!
